The Kia PVB video was shot for CES 2024,
before the actual vehicle was released, so we shot with a dummy car and CGI recreated the PVB vehicle.
The most important thing was to make the PVB's features look realistic.
First of all, we shot HDRI images on the set to realize the reflections and lighting of the real environment in the CG environment, and in the case of the driving car, we collected and applied environment scan information and environment sequence images to represent the flowing reflections.
For match-moving, we performed environmental scans and dummy car scans on the set, and collected detailed information on the sensor size and lens type of the camera used for each scene, as well as lens distortion charts, which made it easier to perform match-moving of multiple scenes.
Even the smallest distortions in the lenses were studied in detail and applied to various CGI scenes for realism.
Finally, we used Macbeth color charts to help us further match the colors in the real world.
